Sivusto obsolotemedia.org kertoo formaatista seuraavasti:
"The Shibaden video tape format was a helical-scan skip-field system that used ½-inch wide tape on a plastic spool with a cine spindle hub. It offered black and white video and both 7-inch and 5-inch spools were available. The smaller 5-inch spools were intended for use on the portapak recorder (model SV-707). The 7-inch spools were for use on the SV-700 and SV-800 series tabletop machines.
As well as Shibaden, equipment was manufactured under the names of Apeco (the Teletape), Bell & Howell (2966 and the 2965 portapak) and Bang & Olufsen (the Beocord 4000).
Shibaden is a combination of the names of the two Japanese manufacturers that introduced it, namely Shiba Electric and Denshi.
In 1969, the Electronic Industries Association of Japan introduced the EIAJ-1 full-field standard for video tape recording, and around 1970, Shibaden began producing VTRs that conformed to this standard. Machines that conformed to the earlier Shibaden-only standard appear to have been discontinued in the early 1970s.
The format is extinct, and working playback equipment is very rare." (Lähde: https://obsoletemedia.org/shibaden/ 20220818)
